Nexus Recovery Center is proud to be the 2023 Beneficiary for Attorneys Serving the Community (ASC), a dynamic volunteer organization of almost 400 women lawyers and law students from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. ASC’s mission is to bring together women lawyers who collectively utilize their resources and talents to support local non-profit organizations whose programs benefit women, children or families.
Each year, ASC raises money for its chosen Beneficiary through various events including a 5K race, Silent Auction, and Annual Luncheon. Since 1987, they have raised nearly $5 million for Dallas-area charities. As ASC’s 2023 Beneficiary, Nexus cordially invites you to the events listed below.

ASC Luncheon
Beth Macy, author of the critically acclaimed and New York Times-bestselling book Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company That Addicted America, will be the keynote speaker at the 2023 ASC Luncheon at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Thompson Dallas (205 North Akard Street, Dallas, TX 75201). This event is the capstone to ASC’s 2022-2023 partnership with Nexus. Nexus Board Member Valerie Howell is the Honorary Chair, and Jenny Anchondo is the Mistress of Ceremonies. This year, ASC’s Lead Chair is Maeghan Whitehead, alongside Co-Chair Jennifer Klein Ayers.

Please join us for the Thirteenth Annual ASC Heart & Sole 5k and fun run benefiting Nexus Recovery Center and our mission to serve as a community of hope and recovery for all women and their families who strive to live healthy, resilient lives. ASC Goes Couture
ASC had its first fundraising event for Nexus on October 6 at Neiman Marcus in Downtown Dallas. The ASC Goes Couture event raised more than $8,000 for Nexus and introduced new ASC members to our mission. In addition to many new faces, three Nexus Board Members—Rani Garcia, Mary Anne Gallagher, and Valerie Howell—were able to join us! Thank you to everyone as Attorneys Serving the Community for making this event a fashionably good time!
