February 2023

This month at Nexus Recovery Center, we feature the new signage for our outpatient clients. We also thank our transportation team and profile our Auxiliary membership drive. Finally, we invite you to our upcoming Mothers’ Brunch, benefiting Nexus and the families we serve.

Nexus Helps with Reliable Transport

At Nexus, we strive to provide holistic treatment for women and their accompanying children. This means that we work to ensure that the basic needs of each individual is met. With that in mind, Nexus’ van drivers Carolyn Lott and Deanna Tanner are available to transport clients to the places they need to be.

Nexus’ vans are used to transport clients for medical appointments and emergencies. In addition, our drivers can transport clients to court cases and Child Protective Services appointments, as well as transporting them from bus stations and other locations to Nexus because they do not have the financial means to do so.

Because most of the women we serve are low income and the need for transportation is high, our drivers can also pick up women and families who are in need of our services, but unable to come to us. This reduces their reliance on public transportation, where they may encounter barriers to their recovery. Having reliable transportation helps ensure our clients’ road to recovery and equips for life after Nexus.

Community

Join the Auxiliary of Nexus

Looking to get involved with Nexus? Join the Auxiliary! Members of the Auxiliary make our community a better place by putting in countless volunteer hours each year, planning, and implementing special events to raise money for Nexus. This mission is accomplished using the following methods:

  • By building a strong and active membership
  • By stimulating public awareness
  • By helping in the financial support of Nexus’ services and projects.

Since its founding in 1996, the Auxiliary of Nexus has made a difference for women and children seeking recovery – and has managed to have a lot of fun along the way! Click the button below to learn more today!

New Signs for Outpatient Clients

Our outpatient clients were having trouble finding our Nexus Generations and Recovery Support Services offices off of Buckner Blvd, so thanks to the generous support of the Faus family, we have installed two new signs at our remote offices. Our outpatient clients were very thankful for the change, and future clients will be able to find us more easily! Thank you to the Faus family and everyone who made this possible!

Save the Date: 2023 Mothers’ Brunch

The Auxiliary of Nexus invites you to celebrate mothers and all the women in our lives at our Mothers’ Brunch celebration, which will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Dallas Country Club. Proceeds for this fundraiser will support the mission of Nexus Recovery Center and ensure that mothers with substance use disorders can receive needed services to rebuild their lives and heal alongside their families.
