🍎Back to School
In August, Nexus hosted back-to-school activities to prepare our kiddos for the upcoming school year with confidence. Thanks to our partners and dedicated individuals, our kids received fresh haircuts and brand-new uniforms!
Special thanks to Hill and Wilkinson for providing school uniforms for our outpatient kiddos, as well as the generous individuals who purchased uniforms for our residential children!
“For our children, experiences like this are about so much more than a haircut. They’re about making sure that even during a season of transition for their family, they still get to experience the excitement and normalcy of getting ready for a new school year,” said Natalie Sullivan, Director of the Nexus Child Development Center.
Going back to school can be a daunting transition, but having brand-new supplies, fresh uniforms, and a clean haircut gives these children the confidence and support they deserve. We are profoundly grateful to our corporate partners for ensuring our young learners started the year feeling supported and valued.

🩷Volunteer During the Holidays
Your team can also give the gift of time by:

- Volunteering at the Children’s Holiday Party

For families at Nexus, these moments are about more than presents and decorations. They are opportunities to experience joy, connection, and a sense of normalcy during the recovery journey.

💜Partner Spotlight: Whole Foods Market
Whole Foods Market has shown that partnership can take many forms: from giving time, sharing resources, to creating opportunities for connection.
Whole Foods employees volunteered to clean up the campus garden, as well as hosting a month-long book drive, inviting employees and customers to donate new and gently used books for the women and children at Nexus. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to fill four bookshelves across campus, creating new opportunities for our clients and children to read, learn, and enjoy time together.
Whole Foods also provided in-kind donations from their local store, including newborn diapers and children’s hygiene items.
We are grateful for partners who recognize that meaningful impact can happen in many different ways and who continue to find new ways to support the Nexus community!
🍼Special Shoutout: Wellpoint
Thanks to Wellpoint, Nexus has been able to host baby showers for our pregnant and newly post-partum moms! These special events provide new and expecting mothers with practical items they need for their baby, as well as providing resources that are essential during a baby’s first year of life. Thank you for this amazing partnership!
