Nexus Enhances Security with Key Card Entry
To protect the woman and children who reside on our campus, Nexus has invested in enhanced security throughout the facility. Security Office Supervisor Sherman Shaw recently demonstrated the new key card reader added to the Administration Building’s main entrance along La Prada Drive. These doors will remain locked except for during peak admissions times. All Nexus staff have all been issued key cards, and our front reception desk is staffed 24/7 to allow visitors to enter and exit when necessary. While it may seem like a small change, this key card entry is a big step to improving the safety and security of our clients and staff!

Join Us for Nighttime for Nexus!
On Wednesday, December 7 at 5:30pm, we’re hosting our first Nighttime with Nexus campus tour. Like Noontime with Nexus, this a mission tour led by Nexus CEO Heather Ormand, focused on the heart and soul of the center’s mission and our future pathways to possibilities.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the work we do, meet key staff, ask questions, and get ideas about ways to become involved. You’ll receive behind-the-scenes updates about our organization and hear powerful stories directly from Nexus team members.
The event is free – all you have to do is register!

Nexus Clients Celebrate Graduation
Nexus has started holding graduation ceremonies for clients who have made their recovery through both our residential and recovery support services. These Nexus alums really enjoyed the celebration of their accomplishments, with our current residential clients cheering on the graduates as they threw their caps in the air. It was such an emotional moment for everyone involved!

BEE MERRY and shop for a good cause at Attorneys Serving the Community’s Holiday Market! Join us on Saturday, November 12 from 10am to 2pm at Beehive Dallas. Local artisans and vendors will offer an array of goods for sale, perfect for holiday gifting. Our generous vendors will provide 20% of gross sales to Nexus Recovery Center, and attendees can enjoy light bites while shopping.
