We thank Junior League of Dallas for helping us get a milk machine for our Pregnant and Parenting Women with Children (PPWC) program. We also thank D CEO Magazine for recognizing Nexus CEO Heather E. Ormand’s leadership. Finally, we invite you to our Young Supporters Council’s Pep Rally and school supply drive at Palmer’s Hot Chicken on August 23!

Nexus PPWC Dorm Gets Milk Machine Thanks to Junior League of Dallas
Clients and staff in our Pregnant and Parenting Women with Children (PPWC) dormitory currently have to go all the way to the Nexus cafeteria to get milk for their children, but thanks to the Junior League of Dallas‘ Community Assistance Fund, we now have a restaurant-grade milk machine in the PPWC dorm!
This new milk machine will allow the young children we serve to receive proper nutrition when they need it, regardless of what else is going on around campus. Thank you so much to Junior League of Dallas for making this possible!

D CEO Magazine Recognizes Nexus CEO Heather E. Ormand
We were thrilled to have our CEO, Heather Emmanuel Ormand, named as a finalist for Leadership Excellence at D CEO’s 2023 Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards last month. Nonprofits from around the DFW Metroplex were in attendance at this gala event.

Mom Squad Turns Two
To celebrate two years of Generations’ Mom Squad, a weekly gathering where moms can come with their children and have fun with their peers in recovery, Nexus staff hosted a roller-skating party. So many alumni attended the event with their children: skating, falling, and laughing uncontrollably in the rink.
The joy felt by the moms and gratitude for their recovery was even more beautiful than the sound of all the kids laughing. Thank you to everyone who came out to make this anniversary a skating success!
